About

Dr. Harold W. Pease has spent his career doing what few academics dare: reading the Constitution as written and measuring current events against it.

He earned his Ph.D. in History from Brigham Young University and taught history and political science at Taft College for more than 30 years, bringing the Founding Fathers' original intent into the classroom at a time when that perspective was increasingly rare.

In 2009, he launched Liberty Under Fire to take that same analysis directly to the public. Since then he has published more than 874 weekly columns — on the Constitution, individual liberty, globalism, immigration, healthcare, taxes, and the growing power of the federal government — that are syndicated in newspapers across the country including the Southern Utah Independent, the Flatbush Brooklyn Herald, the Courier Journal, and the Portland Press Herald.

His standard is simple: Does it square with the Constitution? If not, the American people deserve to know.

Newspapers have permission to republish his columns.
